The custom made cable drums of ORBITER.TV meet several requirements of fiber optic cables and mobile applications. Most measurements can be chosen by the customer. This means the best possible use of storage room, especially in mobile OB units.

ORBITER.TV's cable drums are delivered in two different patterns of 50 x 50 cm and 60 x 60 cm in height and depth. The witdh is measuremade, relating to the demanded lenght and diametre of each single cable. This makes it possible to make best use of space by maintaining the drums as compact as possible.

Just tell us length x diametre of your desired cable, we will propose the smallest possible size out of the numerous sizes we deliver.

Its lightweight aluminum structure reduces the user's physical effort to carry it. The round aluminum tubes provide comfortable and painless grips for transportation. The drum can easily be rotated with a manual crank that stays attached to the drum. This makes it impossible to forget the crank when working in remote places far away from the mobile unit.All cable drums can be optionally equipped with an electrical drive, controlled by a foot pedal allowing the control of the cable's positioning on the drum with both hands.

The drums can be stacked up to 4 metres/ 13 ft height by means of centring devices.

The main focus of our cable drums lies on the requirements of fibre optic cables, which need to be handled and stored more carefully than conventional cables.

The ORBITER drum has excess patch storage room and an adjustable fixing point for the connector inside the drum, to avoid damages to expensive fibre connectors.

The entire design and form follows the standards for fibre optics. This ensures, that even at critical positions no cable will be damaged by sharp edges or too small radii, which are harmful when cables bend too much.

All this means the best possible adaptation of our cable drums to requirements of limited space, working conditions and fiber optics.

Same time the ORBITER drum saves money. The structure is designed very rugged to match the extraordinary stresses and strains of everyday OB-use.

This leads to a very long lasting period of its service life compared to other products wearing out much quicker creating cost for replacement.

The oldest cable drums delivered in 2006 have made over 1 Million cykles without any reclamations. (April, 2011)
